We were at a friends house on Friday night and put Maggie down to sleep in her carrier. This is not something out of the ordinary, we always do it. When we got home Jack looked down and found that she had spit up all over herself. It was bad. I had to completely change her clothes, sponge her off and Jack had to clean the carrier that night. It was not good. Well, we hadn't had anything like that before, and we hadn't experienced it all weekend. We just thought maybe it was a fluke.
Last night, we went in to tell her goodnight and found that she had done it again, but in her bed. It was so sad. We had to put her to sleep in her pack and play. Poor Mags. She went right back to bed, but I am sure she didn't sleep well.
I am just puzzled by what is going on. We haven't changed anything that we have been doing, so I just don't know. I hope that tonight we have a better night. As a mom you hate that you can't help them.

HAPPY 8TH MONTH BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday to my sweet little girl. It is hard to believe how much time has gone by. Back in October it seemed like we would never get to this point. I can remember those long nights of feeding and pumping and and changing lots of diapers. It all seemed like it had no end. Well, we have come so far. Maggie is crawling, pulling up and standing on her own. We still have lots of dirty diapers, but we are holding a bottle on our own. I love this little girl with all of my heart, and can't wait to experience all the fun things in life. Here are a few pics of my cute little girl, but please check out smugmug for a lot more pics. www.jackash.smugmug.com
Maggie standing on her own. Something new we started today.
My husband and his crazy things! We had to take this pic when she was a few days old, and now we have this pic again. I hope she doesn't have a bad dream tonight!!!
P.S. - My favorite holiday is this weekend, so I can't wait to celebrate!!! Happy and Safe 4th!

DOES MONEY GROW ON TREES?
If any one knows about this please let me know! I keep finding so many cute things for Maggie and I want to buy them all for her. Now, I want to get her a pillowcase dress, and I just can't bring myself to spend $20.00 on it. She grows so fast, so she won't get to wear it for long, but it is just so cute. If you have a little girl check them out on Etsy.com. I am sure they have them everywhere, but this sight has so many.
I even watched a video on YouTube today to try and make one. I guess I have to own a sewing machine to make one, and know how to use it. That could be my summer project! When will I find the time?
We have had a very slow week. We made it out to lunch with my friend Teresa from junior high and high school, and then while I went to the dentist she got to babysit for me. Maggie and Teresa bonded well. I think Teresa is ready to be a mom! She would laugh at me.
Maggie and her babysitter Teresa - she had so much fun
Maggie found the reading material. She is already reading on a level 2!
Jack came home yesterday and we went to the pool for an hour. Maggie just had so much fun. I got to hear all of the gossip of the neighborhood! I love being nosey!
Today was our library day. We were in the middle of the activity and I started to smell something funny. Guess What? It was my kid! I had to leave and go change her. It was so fun!
We don't have much else planned this week. We are headed back out to the lake on Sunday to celebrate my nieces birthday. It should be lots of fun!
An added bonus picture. Maggie is into everything these days. She found the stash of diapers! She just smiled at me.
P.S. - It is very hot here! I am not looking forward to the rest of the summer.

BAD WIFE AND DAUGHTER
May I start by saying that I am not really what the title says. I didn't get on and blog something to my husband or my dad, due to a very busy day. We started our morning off bright and early with breakfast at the Original House of Pancakes. It was very delicious. Jack came home and mowed the yard, while Maggie and I played. I was then headed out the door to the grocery store, but decided a nap for all of us was needed. It was very nice. After we gave daddy his present, we headed out to the lake for some family fun and to celebrate four great dads! It was a very fun day. Maggie did great again in the water, I think the boys talked politics and religion until they were crazy, and we shut down Lake Lewisville for the weekend! All in all it was a great day. I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband who has been an amazing father, a great dad, and four brother in-laws that I think are great too!
I also want to take the time to remember my brother Allen for the amazing father that he was. He will forever be loved by so many of us. We know you would have made Fathers day even better!
So, a happy late Fathers Day to everyone out there!
Here are some great pics of all of the wonderful men in my life!

SAD, BUT FUN DAY
Maggie and I are going to be experts on the malls around town this summer. It is a cheap, and cool way to venture out. She loves her stroller, I love to walk around the mall, and I don't work up a sweat! All and all it is great.
We made our way to what I find to be the best mall around (Willowbend in Plano). It has a lot of high-end stores, but it is never crowded and easy to get to. Maggie and I met my two best friends from college. Sarah and Janet. It is our annual tradition to get together and hang out for the day. We started this tradition once we graduated college, and now three kids later we have continued it. I really enjoy our times together. The kids do great, so it is something fun to do. That is the fun part for the day. The sad part is one of us is moving far away.
No, it is not me. You will probably have to pry me out of the state of Texas, so it leaves one of them. Sarah and Matt (her husband) have had the opportunity to move to California. It is a great opportunity for them, but it makes me very sad to see one of my best friends leave. We have been through so much together and our kids were just starting to go through life together. I am so happy for them, but I want to be selfish for a minute and say I don't want them to leave. I know it is a place that we can visit, but that is just not the same. I guess I have to say that I wish them the best of luck, and I can't wait to get out to California to see them.
Maggie and I wrapped up our day with a visit from my mom. She came over for dinner and hung out with us. We had a lot of fun. It is nice to have her come over. So, the day is done and we have nothing on the books for tomorrow. I am sure we can come up with something fun to do.
I leave you with the pics of Maggie, Maddie, and Brody. (Brody looks a little crazy in the pic, so I put another one on here to show how cute he is!)

Not much to report
There will be no pics for this post. I have really tried hard to take a pic of Mags everyday this summer, but like most things, I have failed. We really haven't had much going on the past two days. We went to the mall with Stacy and Michael yesterday and did some shopping. I got Maggie a new onseie and that was about it. Maggie was successful in feeding herself on the way to the mall. It was wonderful. We are slowly learning how to feed ourselves. I thought it would never get here.
Maggie has started a new feeding plan. We have our morning bottle, some oatmeal and a fruit for breakfast. After that we have a late morning bottle followed by our nap. When we wake up we have our lunch of a fruit and veggie. Later in the afternoon we have a much smaller bottle, and a late afternoon nap. We then have our meat and veggie with dinner, our bath (because we make such a mess), kisses from daddy and our final bottle for the night. All in all it seems to be going good. The only thing I question is, could this be waking her up earlier because she is so hungry? She has woken up earlier and earlier each day. I just don't know what to do. Should I add more into the day with her feeding, or what? I am just so confused.
As for today, we have not done much. Mommy is really tired today and didn't feel like doing anything. Maybe I will go get a snow cone!

WEEKEND WRAP-UP AND MONDAY ALL IN ONE
We had a pretty eventful weekend, and it was all so much fun. We woke up EARLY Saturday morning and headed out to my niece Aly's softball game. We thought it would be good to go out early so we could be the heat. It was so hot. It felt like we were in a sauna. We finally talked my family into going to the lake, but it was going to take a long time to get there. (We are pretty slow!) My niece Aly decided to come back with us and hang out. Aly and I headed to McDonald's while Jack and Maggie stayed home and napped.
We all finally made it out to the lake around 3 and realized it was very hot. It took getting into the water to cool off. While we were in the water my niece and sister were hanging out on a noodle. Amy looked down and a fish was swimming across her lap. She jumped, and it scared the fish, so it finned Aly's leg. She screamed and cried and they both headed back to the boat. It pretty much attacked her. It was the end to our swimming journey. We have been going to this lake for years and have never had anything like that happen. It was crazy.
After we made it back in, we all hung out and had dinner. While we were waiting on dinner to cook, my other niece Maddy jumped from the deck to the boat. Well, she didn't jump far enough and luckily Jack grabbed her hands in time, or she would have gone completely under. She didn't have on her life jacket, so it could have been really bad. So, my sister suffered her second heart attack for the day.
We had a great time at the lake and can't wait for our next visit there. Maggie just does so good, so that makes for a happy mommy!
We started off Sunday early again. Although, we do get Maggie to take 2 hour naps these days. It is wonderful. Jack did yard work, and Maggie and I hung out inside. We then went to lunch, bought some plants, and went to the grocery store. I guess it wore Maggie out, because by the time we made it out to eat this is what happened!
Yes, she fell asleep in the high chair. It was priceless. I can't believe it happened. We knew we had a great kid, but for her to sleep anywhere is just wonderful. It makes our lives easier. So, Sunday started off with nothing to do, but turned into a day of lots.
Today has been a simple day. Maggie and I did laundry. (When can kids start doing chores?) Then, we ventured out to our friend Jenny and Will's house for a fun play date. He wasn't feeling well, so we hope he gets better soon. Tonight we just hung out at home and had a pretty easy evening. We look forward to a great week.

A TRIP TO BANKSTON HONDA AND A NIGHT OF EATING CHEESE
Today was a very busy day. Maggie was awake very early this morning. I can't complain though, she went back to sleep for a two hour nap. I should have slept, but I didn't. Lesson learned. After Maggie got up we went to visit daddy at his fundraising event. Maggie was very shy at first, but after crying on daddy's shoulder and a bottle she started to warm up. It was very cute. Everyone was very friendly and nice. I got to eat while everyone held her. It was nice to pass her around. We had lots of fun meething Jack's coworkers. I feel very sorry for them. They do a great job, like everyone always does, of putting up with his humor! They just kept saying they were sorry to me. I can't be upset, I knew what I was getting!!!
After our fun afternoon there, we went by Amy's house for a visit. Maggie felt very at home and got some good cousin loving. It was fun just to hang out. We then made it home and all took naps! It was so peaceful.
We went out for dinner tonight. While at dinner we tried a new food. Mac and Cheese! Yes, cheese. Maggie loved it. I have pictures to prove it. Hopefully, she won't be like her mom. So, the chicken and gravy last night and the Mac and Cheese tonight are both winners. We are well on our way to being very healthy!
So,for our first week we have been successful. We are looking forward to a wonderful summer. Hopefully, we have a rain free weekend and can head out to the lake.
A VERY SLOW DAY
I will have to add my picture for the day later. I really didn't capture a lot yesterday. Maggie and I started off the day on a good note. With it very rainy and cloudy yesterday we didn't have much to do. We got ready and headed out the door with our friends Stacy and Michael to the mall. It is always an adventure with two kids. We walked around, went to the play area and then ventured into the Cheesecake Factory. I haven't been there in years. It was very tasty. It was a lot of fun, and got us out for a few hours. Maggie fell asleep on the drive home so I fed her, and put her back to bed. It was a great nap for her.
Jack came home a little after 3, so I took advantage and headed out to Target. Man, I could get lost in that store. I had to buy meats for Maggie. Who knew they made meats for 7 month olds to eat. I didn't. I was told I needed to start serving her these things. So, I bought a whole lot. I was gone for over an hour and Jack was very surprised by how long I took. You forget when your out how easy it is to do things without an attachment. I love her, but it is nice to run an errand without her. I did miss her though.
Stacy and Michael ventured over for dinner. Michael was very happy to see Jack. I can't tell you a kid yet that doesn't like him. While we were at the mall he asked for Jack. I don't get it. Maybe it is the easy name!
Other than that we really didn't do much. Day 2 of the Wii active was a challenge. The lunges are going to kill me. We are off today, so I hope to give my legs a rest. The stairs here at home don't make things any easier.
I can't wait to share with everyone the pics of Maggie eating cheese! Yes, I said cheese. I will tell you all about it later.

Wii Wednesday
I have to start by saying that the title has nothing to do with Maggie other than the fact that she went with me to buy my new Wii active. Or, I guess you could say that because of having her I am now working out! Well, okay so not true. I only gained 18 pounds because of her, and lost that right away. Now, I am having to work on myself and my bad habits. Any how, I went yesterday and bought my Wii active! I am so excited about it. I tried it out last night and really enjoyed it. I did hate working out in front of Jack (don't ask me why,) but it was a really good workout. I hurt today. I have another day of training and then a day of rest. I will keep you posted on what happens.
Okay,on to our fun Wednesday adventures. We did a lot yesterday. Maggie slept until 8:30. It was great. It allowed me to wake up and get in the shower. I got her up and finished getting ready. It was so nice. We then headed out the door to meet up with some friends I work with at the library. It was so much fun. The theme for the week was down on the farm. We sang songs, played with toys and read a story together. It was a neat program and we can't wait to go back next Wednesday. After the library we walked over to lunch where Maggie slept through the whole thing. I just love that she still sleeps in her carrier. What will I do when she doesn't fit? After lunch we said good bye and headed to Sams. Why is it that I manage to spend so much money there? We bought the necessities, diaper, wipes, and food. I also managed to get her another life jacket, and an outfit. Man, summer will add up fast.
Overall the lesson that I have figured out is that Maggie has her best days when we are on the go. So, if anyone has any ideas on "free" things for us to do around town please let me know. We have several weeks ahead of us, so we need lots to do.
To wrap up our day we had to clean out our closet to get ready to duck and cover. We were under a huge tornado watch and the sirens kept going off. It made for a fun end to our day. Needless to say we didn't end up in the closet, and we lucked out and didn't get any damage.
Maggie and I have nothing planned for today, so we will see what we come up with! Off to get ready for the day.
Here is the picture of all the kids we met up with yesterday. Six of us were pregnant at school this year. We all had our babies pretty close together. One girl and I share the same delivery date. It has been so fun watching the kids grow.

Birthday Fun
Day 2 has arrived and guess what? We survived! It was a great day. Maggie babbled for about 45 min. yesterday morning until I finally went in and got her. She had a big smile on her face, so I knew it was going to be a great day! We played around for a bit and then Stacy and Michael stopped by. We hung out and played, then we headed out to lunch. It was a big adventure. Maggie slept while we ate, and Michael only wanted to eat corn! I have never seen a kid only want to eat a vegetable. It is a good vegetable! We finally left our friends and ventured to Hobby Lobby for my sisters birthday gift. I just love that store. Maggie did so good in the shopping cart. I can't believe that she is big enough to sit in there. We finished up at Hobby Lobby, ran by the grocery store and then made our way back home. Daddy came home early, so that was a nice treat.
After Maggie took her hour and a half nap, we headed over to Lori's house for some birthday fun. The kids all played outside, and Maggie was so excited to see all her cousins. I think it made her happy to be there with all of them. She really misses them. We will have to make sure we spend more time with them this summer. It was a really good night. We had a yummy meal, cake and some ice cream to top it all off! I just love any reason to celebrate!
So day 2 is behind us and we have a busy day ahead of us today. I can't wait to see our friends from school as we venture off to the library! Keep checking back for our newest adventure!

Day 1 down
Well, we made it through our first official day of summer. It was a long day, but we made it. We started off our morning with a nice walk. It was pretty outside, so we walked over to our friend Stacy and Michael's house. We had lots of fun until Maggie hit her head on the block bucket. It all went downhill from there. After trying to calm her down we made our way home. Maggie was so comfortable she fell asleep in the stroller. I put her down for a nap once we got home. Thinking I would get some things done. Right! Wrong! She only slept for 30 min. and was back up again. This time not so happy. She was having what my sister always called a "Maggie" day. She didn't want anything to do with being alone. She wanted to be held and walked around with. I don't know if it was the lack of noise here at home or the fact that we didn't have a busy social calendar.
I think Maggie is in the beginning stage of getting teeth. I called the Dr.'s office to see if her runny nose had anything to do with this, or if she was starting to get a cold. They suggested that without the signs of a fever, and her constant runny nose that she was more than likely getting her pearly whites! We shall see. Another stage that she is going through that is frustrating her is crawling. She gets up on all fours, bounces back and fourth, takes a few scoots and falls down. She just gets upset and can't seem to understand that it is all in due time.
We had a great evening last night. We went back to Michael's house for pot roast and bubbles! Maggie was just in awe of the bubbles coming at her. She just sat on the blanket and watched as they flew by.
Maggie and I are looking forward to our new adventures together. Check back with us tomorrow as we update you on our fun day today!
